Common Questions

What people usually ask us

Do I need a separate hitting mat if my enclosure kit comes with turf?

Most enclosure kits include a basic turf floor covering, but that's not the same as a real hitting mat. A dedicated mat with a proper hitting insert absorbs impact, protects your joints on full-speed swings, and gives you consistent turf interaction under the ball — flooring turf alone tends to feel harder and wear out faster right where you're actually hitting from.

What's the difference between the HotShot system and the ready-to-play mats?

The HotShot system is modular — you pick your size and hitting insert separately, which lets you dial in exactly the feel and price point you want, and swap the insert down the road without replacing the whole mat. The Fiberbuilt and Country Club Elite mats are pre-configured, ready-to-play options if you'd rather skip the decisions and just order a complete mat.

How often do hitting inserts need to be replaced?

It depends heavily on how often you play and how hard you swing, but most golfers get one to three years out of a quality insert before it starts to feel noticeably firmer or shows wear where the ball is struck. That's the main advantage of a modular system like HotShot — you replace the $60-120 insert instead of the whole mat.

Can I use a golf mat directly on a concrete garage floor?

Not recommended without underlayment. Concrete has essentially zero give, which transfers shock straight up through the mat into your wrists and elbows on repeated full swings. We'd point you toward adding foam floor tiles under any mat if you're setting up in a garage or unfinished basement.

Do these mats work with all launch monitors?

Yes — hitting mats are launch-monitor-agnostic. Whether you're running a radar-based unit like a Garmin or SkyTrak, or a camera-based system like a Uneekor or Foresight, the mat just needs to sit at the right distance and orientation for your specific monitor's tracking zone, which we can help you figure out.
